It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Fridays are always a little bittersweet at the Thrifty Nickel. It means that we don’t get to see many of our great work friends until Monday. But on the other hand, it means the weekend is here and it’s time to celebrate!

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Unsure what to do with all your free time? Well since you’re already reading this, you’re in luck! Thrifty Nickel is chock full of events going on all week in the Permian Basin.

Looking for auto dealership equipment and supplies? Well there’s a sale going on this weekend at 2301 E. Street due to a dealership property being sold. Tire and wheel sets, toolboxes, camper tops, bedliners and more will all be sold. Inside the building there will also be 20-30 cars, trucks and vans for sale. Don’t miss out on this one folks, or else you’ll be sorry.

Have you ever sat around and thought about the origins of certain things? Some items are simple to explain and we know how and when they started, but others don’t seem to have a clear origin. The origin story of your local Thrifty Nickel started over 30 years ago in the Permian Basin and has grown to be the largest free classified newspaper in the United States.

So when was the first ever garage sale? No you think it was a middle-aged fellow cleaning out his garage 100 years ago, when a passerby offered to buy a dusty goblet that caught his eye. While we can’t say for sure, garage sales can offer you valuable items at a discounted rate. Thank God it’s Friday in the Permian Basin! The staff at Thrifty Nickel is excited for the weekend and you should be too. Weekends are great for relaxing, firing up the grill, watching football or even catching up on work you didn’t get done during the week. Tonight everyone should head on over to Ratliff stadium and cheer on the Permian Panthers as they square off against Midland Lee.

November is here and that means we can soon expect cool weather everyday for the next few months. While you might be cold blooded and despise the frigid chill of winter, don’t forgot how sweltering the Odessa/Midland area was this summer. So enjoy the cold while it’s here and spend some time outdoors this weekend.

Don’t forget that right now you can help end hunger in the Permian Basin!  Right now when you buy two weeks and bring in two cans of food, you’ll get a third week for free. (Third week free for ten words or under, after that each word is 40 cents) All food donated goes to the West Texas Food Bank where they work tirelessly to help put an end to hunger in our community. It’s a lovely Thursday in the Permian Basin, and there’s a brand new edition of the Thrifty Nickel on newsstands for your viewing pleasure. Did you know there’s treasure buried in the Permian Basin? No not oil, and not a huge treasure chest filled with diamonds, but something that might be just as valuable in your eyes. Let Thrifty Nickel’s garage sale section help you find that glorious treasure you’ve been searching for. Garage Sales are a way for Mom to get rid of all little Billy’s toys he left home when he moved for college, not knowing that some of them might be quite valuable. Ashley Furniture Homestore Is Having A Garage Sale In Your Town!

Here at Thrifty Nickel we like to think that we’re responsible for putting the class in classifieds!
