Things are looking pretty bad in the Northeast as the great Blizzard of 2015 rolls through. Check out our Facebook page to see a video of all the snowfall in Boston this morning. Thankfully things here in Odessa, Texas are looking nice and snow free so far this week, we usually don’t get to participate in blizzard hysteria that dominates the airwaves. The other item that I’ve seen on the news non stop is Deflate-gate. Now I’m sure how much an under inflated football might a player but the game against the Colts wasn’t even close so we should just move on. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out and if it possibly tarnishes the legacy of Tom Brady. I’ll save my Super Bowl predictions for later this week, so don’t go placing any bets yet!

Today we celebrate the amazing life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. However since we don’t work for the government, we’re still open today! Yesterday we had the AFC and NFC Championship games in the NFL and one of them gave us quite the show! New England thoroughly stomped the Indianapolis Colts to the tune of 45-7 and will move on to Superbowl 49 in Arizona. The real exciting game of the day was the first, pitting Green Bay against Seattle. At halftime the score was 16-0 in Green Bay’s favor and it looked like they had the game won, until the second half happened! With about five minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks started their furious comeback. After a Russel Wilson Touchdown and an onside kick, Seattle marched down the field and Marshawn Lynch scored from 24 yards out to give the Hawks their first lead of the game 22-19. The Packers came back to kick a game tying Field Goal and send the game to overtime. Seattle won the toss, got the ball first and scored the game clinching Touchdown to send them to their second straight Super Bowl. It was one of the craziest games I can remember seeing and I’ll be rooting for Seattle to beat New England in two weeks!

What a wild weekend of NFL Football we had. Well if you were watching the Dallas vs. Detroit that is! The other three games were kind of boring by the second half from my end of the couch. The Cowboys game was a back and forth slugfest against the Lions. Down 14-0 nothing nearing halftime, things were looking pretty grim for the Dallas faithful. But thanks to a Matthew Stafford turnover, Dallas got in the end zone on a 76 yard touchdown caught by Terrance Williams. Things were tense until the very end but Dallas held on to win 24-20 and will travel to play Green Bay this Sunday on the frozen tundra.

Have any of you given up on your New Year’s resolutions yet? I sure hope not, because it takes perseverance to change things in your life! 2015 will be the best year of your life if you work to make it happen that way! Your hard work will pay off and soon you’ll see yourself as a healthier/wealthier/happier person when you look in the mirror. It helps to have someone there to motivate and keep you accountable for your resolutions. Take it one day at a time and you’ll find yourself crossing that finish line in no time!

Truckload Fireworks Is Here!

Have you gotten all your fireworks for New Year’s Eve yet? If you haven’t, then don’t fear because Truckload Fireworks is here! The NFL regular season came to end on Sunday and the Dallas Cowboys will be hosting the Detroit Lions this Sunday in the Wild Card Round. The Cowboys finished the year 12-4 and are the third seed in the NFC behind Seattle and Green Bay. The other NFC wildcard matchup this weekend pits Arizona at Carolina. Over in the AFC we have Baltimore at Pittsburgh and Cincinnati at Indianapolis. I predict the Cowboys and Panthers move on in the NFC to round two. Predicting the AFC matchup seems a little tougher in my mind but I’m going with the Steelers and Colts to advance. Comment below and tell me if you think I’m wrong, but we won’t know anything until this weekend!

Congratulations to the Permian Panthers for winning their first playoff game in five years Friday night. The crowd at Ratliff stadium was rocking and helped cheer on the home team to victory 31-7. Brandon Bailey had an amazing game for Permian and finished with 180 yards rushing and two touchdowns to lead the way. The Panthers next test will take place Saturday 1pm in Lubbock against Amarillo Tascosa. Things are looking very promising for the Panthers but anything can happen in the playoffs, so stay tuned!
