Taste Of The Permian Basin Is Coming Soon!

It’s finally Friday and weather is looking beautiful across the Permian Basin for this weekend. Tonight Odessa High School travels to square off against Lubbock Coronado, looking to pick up their first win of the season. The Permian Panthers are off this week after picking up a last second win against Amarillo Tascosa last week. Around the NFL, Dallas travels to Baltimore to take on the Ravens and the undefeated Houston Texans try to improve to 6-0 against Green Bay.

Thrifty Nickel is proud to be a sponsor of the upcoming Taste of the Permian Basin event, Thursday October 25th. Proceeds from the event benefit Permian Basin students and teachers through scholarships, hospitality training and culinary equipment for local high schools. Tickets for the event are $35 and can be purchased by calling 432-563-5233. We hope to see everyone there at the Commemorative Air Force Hanger in Midland on October 25th!

It’s a lovely Thursday in the Permian Basin, and there’s a brand new edition of the Thrifty Nickel on newsstands for your viewing pleasure. Who Can Say No To Those Eyes!?

Here at Thrifty Nickel we love animals. From cats to canaries it seems like we all have at least one animal in our life. If you own a pet then you know the joy they can bring you and how they grow to be a part of your family. Some days you’ll like them better than your own kids! So even if you can’t set a place at the dinner table for your pet armadillo, everyone should know the joy of inviting a loveable pet into their home.
