I might be the happiest person in the world today, just because it’s Friday. It feels like my last weekend was over a month ago so I’m going to take advantage of the one before me. Does the term Superbowl Saturday sound oddly foreign to you? I think it so, and have grown quite accustomed to watching the big game on Sunday evenings. Since this year the NFL decided to hold their annual championship game outdoors in New Jersey, there are a few weather concerns. Because of the potential danger of heavy snowfall hitting the area, NFL officials have come out and said that they might have to move the game anywhere from Friday January 31st to Monday February 3rd. While a Friday or Saturday Superbowl would alleviate the trouble of having to carry a headache through work the next day, it just seems wrong to me. Today was another chilly morning here across the Permian Basin. If this polar vortex arctic chill doesn’t stop soon, then I might just start missing summer.(Actually probably not!) Well no matter how cold it is outside, it’ll never be cold enough for this blog to hibernate, so you’re in luck!

So with the NFL Conference Championships taking place this weekend, it’s time for some of my not so expert predictions. The first game taking place on Sunday is the New England Patriots at the Denver Broncos. I’m expecting a shootout because neither defense is superbly talented so let’s say Peyton makes the Super Bowl winning 42-34. Out West we have Seattle hosting the San Francisco 49ers. I’ve loved this Seahawks team over the past few years and think they’ll finally get over the hump and win the NFC title game with a final score of 21-17. So if you’re feeling lucky enough to bet some money down in Vegas then go ahead, just be sure to share the winnings!
